Sister Leonora

Subject: SISTER LEONORA - the Missionary Nun with the Blue Habit

I never met Sr. Leonora (Filipino Nun) until – we were on the same SF Muni Bus on September 27th. There was a 4-alarm fire on Haight Street and all the passengers had to leave the trolley bus because it could not pass the street where the fire was. Sister Leonora looked at me and of course I was also in bewilderment as to “how am I going to take a bus?” And the bus driver was giving various directions for everyone to go. Mind you, I just got out the Dr’s office and had a flu shot and had a follow-up on an illness that I had. I got off the bus and Sr. Leonora was walking in my direction and was also confused – then after her strong perseverance…………………..

Sr. Leonora said ………………… to me, we can walk (and mind you I am definitely not fit) anyway, reluctantly and panting profusely – I walked - out of breathe and She talked on and said that God was testing her, I think he was testing both of us. Anyway onwards to Market Street from the Haight Street. Her with her vigorous 5-6 steps ahead of me, and me behind out of breathe and her saying common you can make it! And me saying No Sr!!!!! Can’t!

She told me that she was going to the 5:15pm Mass – at St. Patricks and didn’t want to be late. Finally – WE DID MAKE IT!!!! Thanks be to God AND SISTER!

If in anyway, you can give this message to her, I would truly appreciate it – if not, I’m sure she will somehow know how I feel.

“Sister Leonora, I am so happy to have met you – you have given me the strength to OVERCOME SOME NEGATIVE ISSUES I.E. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL THAT I AM UNDERGOING AT THIS TIME I thank God for bringing you into my life, a daily smile to my face and a positive outlook in what the Lord has given me– YOU ARE MY GUARDIAN ANGEL, you will always be in my heart and hopefully someday, God Willing, we will meet again!
