 Pastor's Message

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

In St. Paul’s letter to the Colossians, chapter 1:24, he writes that he rejoices in his sufferings because they are “filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ” This does not mean that Jesus’ Passion and death were not enough to save us, but that in God’s mysterious plan we can join our own sufferings with His for the good of the Church. When we pray, do penance for our sins, and give alms for the poor during Lent we are able to help ourselves and others, both materially and spiritually. I invite all of us to use this holy time to unite our Lenten sacrifices with those of Christ for the good of the Church, particularly for our parish and the people of our parish family.

I also want to invite you to experience anew the richness of our faith by participating in the various Holy Week and Easter celebrations. In them we remember the central mystery of our faith: Christ’s death and resurrection. We are blessed when you are present. Please plan on attending – and bring a friend!

Through your Easter Flower offering we add beauty to our altars and remind us to pray for those who have gone before us. The flowers also stand as a reminder of Christ’s triumph over death. They remind us that we are called to be Christ-like to one another, to resurrect goodness in our own lives and in those of our brothers and sisters. Let them also remind us to strive to become CHRIST to one another.

As we approach the joyful celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we invite you to review the Liturgical Schedule for Holy Week and Easter Sunday. You should have received an envelope for your Easter Offering. For your convenience, you may also make your contribution online by visiting www.stpatricksf.org. Simply select the “Easter Offering” tab and follow the instructions provided. Each year, we rely on your faithful Easter generosity to help our parish meet its financial responsibilities. We are deeply grateful for your continued support.

May your generosity be richly blessed by the Risen Lord. Through the power of His Resurrection, may we, with faith and courage, become living signs of Christ’s love in and for the world.

I, and all who work here at Saint Patrick Church, pray that the blessings and grace of this Holy Season be with you and your loved ones.
HAPPY EASTER!

Yours in Christ the Teacher,

Fr. Spyrow

Pastor

Welcome, Fr. Boie!!

Dear St. Patrick Parishioners,

As I prepare to join your parish community as your new Parochial Vicar, I come with a mixture of emotions. To be honest, I am still preparing myself for this new assignment and do not yet feel completely ready for all that lies ahead. Yet, I trust that God, who calls us to new journeys, will provide the grace needed for this new chapter of ministry.

There is still a certain sadness in my heart as I leave the parish that I have served and learned to love deeply. Over the years, it became more than a community of faithful believers— it became a family. Saying goodbye is never easy when so many memories, friendships, and shared experiences have become part of one's life.

At the same time, I look forward with hope and excitement to becoming part of your parish family. I am eager to learn about your traditions, your stories, your dreams, and the many ways God is at work in your community. I come not as a stranger, but as a fellow pilgrim in faith, ready to walk with you and grow with you.

My prayer is that together we may continue to build a parish marked by unity, peace, harmony, and a deep love for Christ and His Church. I hope to work alongside all of you—parish staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, families, youth, and seniors—as we strive to make our parish a welcoming home for all.

I have always been inspired by the dedication of parish volunteers who generously offer their time, talents, and treasures for the good of the Church. Many of you make personal sacrifices, even financial ones, to support parish ministries and activities. Your generosity is a beautiful witness of faith and stewardship, and I look forward to experiencing that same spirit of enthusiasm and commitment among you.

Please keep me in your prayers as I prepare for this transition. Be assured of my prayers for all of you as well. May the Lord bless our journey together, and may we continue to grow as one family in faith, hope, and love. I look forward to meeting each of you soon.

In Christ,

Fr. Boie

Parochial Vicar

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."
Matthew 28: 18-20 (RSV-CE)
